Web Poems (2017 - ongoing) is a series of websites incorporating found imagery,
randomized and sometimes interactive html, css, & javascript, and the
visual elements of the code itself. Via the web inspector, the viewer
engages with parts of a website that are usually not meant to be seen,
i.e. the html markup. Elements of the code flash, disappear and
reappear, comment on each other and themselves, and otherwise act as
visual and textual elements of the piece. The juxtaposition of the
imagery and code create an interplay akin to painting/title,
comic/dialog, picturebook/story, film/subtitle. These "poems" serve as
deceptively simple works that redefine the parameters of how a website
can be used as artistic material.
